Leading and managing a persistent UX team using a combination of best practices and methodologies including but not limited to: design thinking, lean, and agile. Working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and development to drive the most innovative and industry-leading technology products. Working with senior leadership to help define new business opportunities through lean canvas exploration and definition, design sprint workshops, pilot studies, and more. Collaborating with product owners to define strategy, and prioritize product roadmaps and key deliverables for releases.

Serving as a UX + Agile evangelist that drives innovation within the cardiac rhythm and heart failure business, focusing primarily on our patient-facing mobile experiences. Establishing strategic partnerships within Medtronic and outside partners, like Apple®, to identify new opportunities, features, and technology that can be incorporated to deliver experiences that make a difference in people’s lives.

Passionately driving, educating, and mentoring others about best practices used within user experience, research, design, and technology. Constantly working to improve DesignOps to drive better efficiencies so that the team can focus on the most meaningful work. Examples include but are not limited to: leading the team to define subsystems of our current design system that supports our products on different tech stacks, executing continuous feedback loops with end users/stakeholders within our sprint cycles, establishing a new persistent UX research team to gain better insights/data so that we can frame better questions, identify problems, unmet needs and new business opportunities.

CONTRACT UX CONSULTANT, MEDTRONIC, AUG 2019 - OCT 2019
Worked under the human factors engineering org for the cardiac rhythm and heart failure division. Primarily focused on the mobile app for BLE-enabled devices for patients. Worked as a key member to help drive sprints and work through the process of discovery, planning, execution, and delivery of applications. Served as a user advocate throughout the discovery and development process. Actively defined research studies and executed them to validate hypotheses by working with users, customers, product managers, engineers, marketers, and designers. Conducted usability studies, using a variety of methods but ultimately using the best method given the circumstance.
UX MANAGER, ADVENT HEALTH, JUNE 2019 - AUG 2019 
Lead a team of user experience designers responsible for the research, interaction design,
user interface, and visual design for AdventHealth. I established work priorities, provided
direction, and guided the team to create on-brand, high-impact experiences based on user needs and business requirements. Duties also included but were not limited to - serving as a digital experience representative in cross-divisional forums and collaborating with designers, developers, researchers, product and project managers, and business partners to grow AdventHealth’s organizational UX discipline for both internal and external audiences.

Worked closely with the director to set, execute and lead strategic-level decisions in the areas of UX design, information architecture, and visual design.
CONTRACT UX CONSULTANT, MEDTRONIC, APRIL 2018 - APRIL 2019
Worked on the concept team under the Connectivity & Insights - Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure division. The concept team was an externally-focused and adaptive structure that gave organizations flexibility in dealing with changing circumstances. (Based on X-teams by Deborah Ancona MIT Sloan School of Management) Primary responsibilities included creating direction for UX initiatives and executing the research studies. Worked as a key member to help drive sprints and work through the process of discovery, planning, execution, and delivery of applications. Served as a user advocate throughout the discovery and development process. DIRECTOR OF UX, SLIDEWAVE, JAN 2017 - MARCH 2018
Served as director of all user experience engagements. Responsible for the management of cross-functional teams and directing all UX deliverables. Worked closely with customers doing discovery/planning sessions of ideas, providing deliverable schedules, and designing custom software applications. Directed an engineering team in an Agile environment to efficiently create design solutions for products. Engaged in sprints as a managing team member throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsible for the design development process from discovery/planning, research, wire-framing, layout, prototyping, user testing, documentation, and management of engineering implementation.
SENIOR UI/UX DESIGNER, VERITAS, OCT 2015 - JAN 2017
Collaborated closely with development, visual design, user research, and product management to ensure the success of product UIs. Developed wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate user interaction and design concepts. Collaborated with designers across company sites and scrum teams. Worked with collaborative multi-disciplinary teams and worked directly with developers for the implementation of designs in an Agile / Scrum environment.
SENIOR UI/UX DESIGNER, NUMERA, DEC 2011 - OCT 2015
Responsible for establishing and directing the creative vision of Numera’s solutions, Business Analysis, and customer engagement support. Worked closely with customers to evaluate requirements and deliver white-labeled custom-branded instances of Numera’s application platforms. Collaborated with the executive management team to design new production visions. Worked with the engineering team in an Agile environment to efficiently create and convey design solutions for products. Engaged and sprinted as a key team member throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsible for the design development process from concept, wire-framing, full design layout, style guide documentation, asset generation and management. Design disciplines include - UI, UX, interaction design, and information architecture. Channels include - mobile, tablet, and web. Platforms include - iOS, OS X, Windows, and Android.
FREELANCE SENIOR UI/UX DESIGNER & ART DIRECTOR, JAN 2009 - OCT 2015

Worked as a freelance Senior UI/UX Designer & Art Director for domestic and international clients. Designed and managed internal and external creative designs through multiple platforms including web, tablet, mobile, and print. Designed, developed, and executed creative plans for single or multiple, diverse products or services with substantial financial impact to the organization.
LEAD GRAPHIC DESIGNER & PHOTOGRAPHER, FARO, SEPT 2006 - JAN 2009

Graphic designer for the development and design of marketing campaigns, including web and print. Designed and produced trade show graphics, advertisements, direct mailer pieces, website graphics, catalogs, brochures, and other similar materials. Worked with product marketing to develop and evolve the organization’s creative communication theme(s) and direction. Supervised outside vendors providing design services. Interfaced with outside agencies to review designs and usage. Maintained and upheld the corporate identity ensuring consistency in all materials. Worked in conjunction with regional marketing departments and supervised the US creative team in the design and creation of all graphics. Responsible for product and on-site photography to support the designs for the marketing teams.
